Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and is an important occasion for our community to come together to celebrate freedom.
The Town of Eatonville FL is the oldest self-governing all-black municipalities in the United States. Incorporated in 1887 and currently still thriving and full of history.
Since 2023, we have curated with the community stakeholders meaningful experiences for Juneteenth. Bringing our communities together and raising awareness of our shared history is our goal. STEAM is conveniently involved in almost everything we touch in today’s virtual world. Combining our history with STEAM education offers a chance for education to take flight!
